Acerlan Foundry

Melting

Two Arc Furnaces with 7 metric tons capacity basic refractory.
Two induction furnaces ½ metric tns capacity.

Molding

Three airset molding lines; including one floor molding line, maximum weight 18,000 lb.
Full Shell molding
Core Making –no bake, shell and isocure.
Heat Treating – State of the art quenching tank (4 agitation pumps, 2000 gal/min each & cooling tower to keep quenching media from 70ºF to 104ºF).

Process/Lines
Full Shell, 110 lb/50 kg; “Small” line, 100 lb/45 kg; “Big” line, 770 lb/350 kg; Floor line, 18,000 lb/9000 kg.

Nondestructive testing equipment

Radiography (Cobalt 60), Two MEV Linatron, magnetic particle, wet fluorescent & dry, ultrasonic testing, dye penetrant.

Laboratory

Sand testing – tensile strength, permeability, sieve analysis, LOI
Chemistry – Baird atomic, spectrograph, Leco (carbon)
Tensile testing
Charpy
Brinell testing
Metalagraphic Analysis
Brinell hardness

Acerlan has competent foundry engineering staff, able to perform process definition, gating and risering and project management.
